Brice left the room putting everything back in its place. The two other rooms had one made up like a guest room and the other a warehouse of stolen goods. He descended to the second floor where he peeked into the rooms at either end of the hallway more guest rooms with single beds with white linen and folded towels on the bed.
The master bedroom had a card table in the center with Cigars, poker and UNO cards in the center. The king size bed quilts were covered in gold with gold sheets. Brice felt the trimmed realized it could be gold. He cracked up at the gold frame picture of Jason and his wife. He thinks he's King Midas. He jumped at the humming noise coming behind a door. His mind told him to hide under the bed but his legs went immovable. The door slide opened. How would he explain this?
"I knew you were up here," said Wilma, raging off the elevator. "Get downstairs."
"I need five more minutes," Brice said, pulling out several gold-plated dresser drawers. "I'll get out of here."
He flipped opened a scrapbook after pulling it out the drawer. Pictures of men and women with school names and address below them. Brice moved his fingers down the line.
"The fool did the work for me," Brice said, grinning.
"Put it back," Wilma said, snatching the book. "Let's forget this."
